Mt. Batur Sunrise hiking is a must on your bucket list when on holiday in Bali. Imagine trekking up an active volcano located in the Kintamani district! With an elevation of 1717 meters above sea level, enjoy the gorgeous rugged landscape that was created over the years by the eruptions that took place in 1917 and 1926.
The Balinese consider Mt Batur to be the second most important mountain after Mt Agung. Most people visit Mt Batur to take in the amazing sunrise, gorgeous views of Lake Batur and the surrounding sea with glimpses of Mt Rinjani in Lombok.
To hike Mt Batur it takes approximately 2 hours and as you get to the peak of the volcano, you will see white steam puffing out from the volcanic holes. Enjoy a glass of hot tea, coffee or even eggs and bananas cooked by volcanic steam! On the way down, your guide will guide you to walk along side the rim of the crater.
