4 Day 3 Night Snowboard Camp for Beginners

Created by Singapore’s own snowboarding and skiing travel company, The Ride Side, this 4D3N camp is where you will learn all the basics of snowboarding and be equipped with the necessary technical skills and knowledge to safely navigate down beginner slopes around the mountain. You will learn how to read trail map, weather reports, avoid mountain obstacles and improve your turns. By the end of the course, you will have the confidence to explore other ski resorts by yourself on your next trip.

Designed for first timers and beginners

Want a taste of snowboarding but don’t want to commit too much time or money before deciding if it’s for you? These beginner snowboard camps are designed to help you learn to snowboard quickly and progress with a fun like-minded group who just like you, are eager to pick up and improve in the sport. The recommended ability level for this camp begins from a complete first timer with no experience, to anyone who is still looking to improve and perfect their S-turns. During the course, the group will be split up by certified instructors according to skill level to ensure effective learning.

With uber convenience in a ski-in ski-out resort, Tomamu’s town design ensures that ski lifts, restaurants, onsens, convenience stores and other attractions all within walking distance.A team of hosts will take care of your tour group throughout the trip both on and off the slopes to create an experience like no other. You will meet and spend a week with fellow travelers to explore and learn the sport together.

Note:
  • Prices are for 1 BUNK in a SHARED ROOM for 4 people.
  • Should you prefer a BED in a SHARED ROOM, please select under Additional Options.
  • Prices are for per pax for the total of the 4 day 3 night package.
  • Selected dates are not confirmed, a representative will get in touch with you to reconfirm your selected booking dates.

Cancellation policies:
  • Cancellations must be in writing and the following charges apply:
  • 29 Days or more prior to arrival date, 30% of Total Booking Fee* to be paid.
  • 15-28 Days prior to arrival date, 75% of Total Booking Fee* to be paid.
  • 14 Days prior to arrival date, 100% of Total Booking Fee* to be paid.

FAQs

What other additional arrangements can The Ride Side help with?
Once reservation is confirmed, a welcome pack brochure and an add-ons form will be sent to you. The welcome pack includes detailed information on trip itinerary and even a packing list to help you prepare if you are new to a skiing/snowboarding holiday. The add-ons form is a collated list of services that you may need to complete you trip. Indicate your preferred selections on the form from airport shuttles, equipment rental, ski & snowboard lessons and travel insurance (with ski & snowboard coverage) – yes they will help you with all these. The Ride Side will organize a meet-up session in Singapore before the trip for a chance to get to know fellow travellers
Is this strictly a 4D 3N trip?
Yes, each trip is strictly 4D3N and you have the option to select from 2 camp schedule, either (Sat – Tues) or (Wed – Sat). There are accommodate alternative schedules (i.e. shorter travel duration), however full trip charges will apply. You can extend your trip to make it a full week (8D7N; Sat-Sat) by booking 2 consecutive camps. For this arrangement, you will be given 1 night (Tuesday) free of charge. You may contact us via email (experiences@golivmo.com) if you wish to request alternative arrangements.
Are there any age restrictions?
All participants are required to be 15 years and above to join the Tomamu Beginner Snowboard Camp.
Do I have to book my own flight?
Yes, flights to Japan are not included in tehe package and you are required to purchase them by yourself.
Which Airport should I travel to?
Book your flights to arrive at New Chitose Airport (CTS), Sapporo. Plan your flights to arrive on Day 1 of your trip date, and departing on Day 4 of your trip. (i.e. For CAMP 1: 1 – 4 Feb, flights should arrive on 1st February and depart on 4th February). We request all guests to be responsible for their own flight bookings.
How do I get to Tomamu from the airport? How long is the travel time?
From New Chitose Airport (CTS), you will take an airport shuttle to Tomamu. This is included in the “Full Package”. Approximate travel duration to Tomamu is 2 hours. Alight at Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU (The Tower) and a representative will bring you to the lodge.
What else should I take note of when booking flights?
You will need to schedule your flights to fit airport shuttle timings. Shuttles from New Chitose Airport (CTS) to Tomamu takes approximately 2 hours. The first shuttle departs at 9.30am and the last shuttle leaves CTS Airport at 9.30PM. There are no shuttles after 9.30pm. What time is check in and check out at the Lodge?
Check-in: 4pm Check-out: 12pm Team will pick you up and send you off to your required shuttle stops.
What skill should I be at to join this camp?
This camp is highly recommended for both first timers and beginners. Complete first timers looking to get your first taste of snowboarding would be the perfect match to this camp. You’ll be guided through all components there is to a snowboarding trip, from your basic snowboard theory to snowboard gear, hands on lesson, technical knowledge and mountain safety rules. All of this will give you a solid basic foundation of snowboarding and will give you the confidence to explore other resorts on your own in seasons to come. Beginners who have tried snowboarding before but have yet to master your turns would be a great fit for this camp as well. The camp will cover topics from equipment basics all the way to completing your S-turn. If you are looking to reinforce and sharpen your knowledge and techniques, this camp will be very suitable to guide you through your snowboarding progression.
What should I pack for the trip?
A comprehensive packing list will be sent to each guest prior the trip to ensure that you are fully prepared for your ski holiday. All items may be purchased or rented at the ski resort.
Will it be possible to get to know fellow travellers prior to the trip?
Yes, there will be a meet up for all our travelers prior to the trip. It will be the perfect time to get to know each other, clear any queries or doubts, share experiences and get psyched for the trip you have all been waiting for!
Can I choose where to snowboard each day?
Ski destinations each day will be scheduled as indicated in our trip itinerary. However, the itinerary is not fixed and might change it in the event of bad weather or to suit the group’s general ability. For those signed up for the camp lesson program, your instructors will decide and advise the most suitable ski areas and terrain for you to snowboard on each given day. If you do not have lessons, the day will be free & easy for you and you can decide where you would like to explore for the day.
Do I need my own snowboard equipment? What else do I need to pack?
Your full set of snowboard equipment (includes snowboard, bindings, snowboard boots & helmet) are included in the package. They will be provided and fit for you when you arrive. Additional rentals (jacket, pants, goggles) can be rented when you arrive as well. Other accessories you will need are a face-mask/balaclava and snowboard gloves. As these are more personal, we recommend purchasing your own for hygiene reasons.
What will the meal arrangements be like?
BREAKFAST: Quick and easy meals in the lodge before heading off to the slopes each morning. They will take you to the local stores and supermarkets in advance to grab all you want to satisfy your breakfast needs. LUNCH: You will be introduced to the famous eats around each ski resort and it will be your choice to select what you have for the day. The dedicated riders can have a quick lunch before returning to the slopes while those who enjoy a relaxing afternoon can soak in the ambience in the various restaurants and cafes. DINNER: Dinner is free & easy and the choice is yours. Dining options are very good in Tomamu with a dedicated food street with popular restaurants just a short walk away from our apartments. You’ll have many options to choose from each night.
Can I request for female only rooms?
The team will do their best to cater to such arrangements upon your request. Feasibility of such arrangements will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Do check with us on the possibility of such an arrangement before you make a reservation.
What happens if I fall sick or get injured during the trip?
Safety is top priority and all the staff at The Ride Side are trained and ready to respond in the event of an emergency. The team will take you to the nearest medical facility for any necessary treatment. Medical fees may be claimed through your travel insurance.
How much should I budget for my Tomamu camp?
If this is your first time in Tomamu, here’s an estimation to help you plan your budget for your trip. Take note that this is only an estimation and is not definitive. Tomamu Snowboard Camp $1,090. Return Flights (SG-New Chitose) $700. Meals Groceries* $150. TOTAL $1,940. *Personal expenses such as groceries & meals are only an estimate, this will depend on your budget & preference. Prices may vary this season due to a variety of reasons. Charges for additional rentals: Jacket & Pants – $150 (for 3 days) Snowboard goggles – $30 (for 3 days)

Cancellation Policy

Note: This experience can be cancelled 29 days prior to the experience day. You will receive 30% of the booking price.
